Shot in Yellowstone National Park in Winter – I drove up and down the road at least 7 times, this guy just DIDN’T want to be photographed, in the end I prevailed!
About Red Fox of Yellowstone National Park
The red fox of Yellowstone is a small, elusive predator known for its striking reddish fur and bushy tail. Adapted to the park’s diverse habitats, from forests to alpine meadows, it primarily hunts small mammals like voles and mice. Unlike its larger cousin, the coyote, the red fox is more solitary and tends to avoid human activity. In winter, it’s often seen “mousing” — leaping high into the air and diving nose-first into the snow to catch prey beneath. The red fox plays a key role in Yellowstone’s ecosystem by helping control rodent populations.
